Philoxenia Choral Collective presents LINEAGE, a concert dedicated to remembering those who have come before us. Through eclectic programming with choral music as the centerpiece, we explore what it means to honor our ancestors - to know them, to love them, to grieve their absence, and to keep their memory alive.

Philoxenia (Philo, “the love of” + Xenia “the stranger”) is focused on reimagining what a choral event can be: blurring the lines between audience and performer, programming music around a narrative, and creating an immersive atmosphere that welcomes the stranger in ourselves and in our neighbor. Come enjoy good food and better company and meet friends and strangers on the Friends University campus. Enjoy songs, poetry, visual storytelling, and more through Philoxenia's 6th Gathering.

Your ticket includes your general admission seat along with hors d'oeuvres and beverages prior to the concert.

Tickets are on sale starting August 4, starting at $25 for adults and $15 for students. If you plan to attend, you’re encouraged to buy your tickets soon, as our shows often sell out.

How do I sponsor this event?
Ticket revenue and sponsorships enable Philoxenia to continue hiring talented guest musicians, actors, and artists in Wichita, Kansas. For Philoxenia: Lineage, we are seeking six Artistic sponsorships of $500 to support the guest artists of this program. Artistic Sponsors will receive two complimentary tickets to the September 26 performance and will be featured in our playbill, if desired.

Philoxenia: Lineage at the Apprentice Gathering

We are excited to be the featured musical event at this year’s Apprentice Gathering at Friends University! The Apprentice Gathering (TAG) is an annual national conference that fosters community of people longing to continue their journey into Christ-likeness. All of the current Philoxenia members are Friends University alumni and some are alumni of the Apprentice Institute that hosts this conference, so we are excited to perform again in a familiar space.
Friday, September 25 is an exclusive performance for Apprentice Gathering attendees. Saturday, September 26 is a public performance, while tickets last.
